The weekend saw the finale of the 2015 BSB – British Superbike Championship at Brands Hatch. What a season it has been for the ePayMe Riders, Shane ‘Shakey’ Byrne, Dan Linfoot, Danny Buchan and Ian Hutchinson.
#4 Dan Linfoot
The start of the season saw the Honda Factory team rider, Dan Linfoot, have an unfortunate crash during free practice in round 2. Leaving him with a broken wrist and a good few weeks off the track and missing round 2 at Oulton Park. Dan vowed to fight back on the track and he certainly didn’t let us down. With his fighting spirit, he pushed forward, taking 3 more podiums to add to his initial 2nd place at Donington in the first round. Dan’s hard work and determination paid off, taking him to the Showdown, finishing 5th overall. A great season for Dan Linfoot.
#67 Shane ‘Shakey’ Byrne
2014 Champion Shane ‘Shakey’ Byrne had a great season, narrowly missing out on the championship to Josh Brookes. The battle between Shakey, Josh Brookes and James Ellison continued through to the showdown and saw Shane get pipped to the post by Brookes in the first 2 rounds of the final at Brands Hatch, but even with Brookes not finishing the final race it unfortunately wasn’t enough for ePayMe’s rider to lift the cup this year. However, still a great performance by Shane this season.
#84 Danny Buchan
Danny Buchan entered BSB this season, joining the BeWiser Team. The first few rounds saw Danny, getting used to the track and the pack, with a couple of DNF’s. However, Danny showed continued determination and dusted himself down, jumping straight back on the bike. By Oulton Park in September, Buchan’s hard work began to pay off receiving two podium positions of 2nd and 3rd in one race meeting. This confidence continued with more consistent riding, even with a change of team, led to him completing the season in 12th position with 125 points.
#9 Ian Hutchinson
IOM TT 2015 was an exciting event for Paul Bird Motorsport Ltd rider Ian Hutchinson as he finished 2nd in the RST Superbike TT on the first day of racing. A determined Hutchy took to the road in the Monster Superstock TT1 and came home 7.7 seconds clear of Bruce Anstey taking the win. But this wasn’t enough for the rider who in 2010 set the record for winning the most races in the IOM TT meeting (5 Races), as he entered the Monster Superstock TT2 finishing 1st. – A great meeting for Ian Hutchinson and ePayMe.
It has been another dramatic year for ePayMe and as the 2015 season draws to a close, the ePayMe team begin work on the THM ePayMe Yamaha Team in partnership with BSB Champion Tommy Hill.
